Reverse Shell Cordovan leather wallets, watch straps, belts, bags, etc. This is a unique material. The front of a piece of Shell Cordovan is the inside of a tanned hide.
This gives the reverse side of the Shell Cordovan piece a beautiful, unique surface. There is also a brand name of the tannery on the back of the piece. Many artisans use the reverse side as the front of their goods.
In the photo you can see a minimalist “Reverse” bifold with the stamp of the Italian Shell Cordovan. We will show examples of other similar products in the comments.
90% of the cases where the reverse side of a piece of Shell Cordovan is used to make leather goods are wallets (cardholders, bifolds, longers, zip-wallets, etc.) But I have found examples of other “reverse” Shell Cordovan accessories:
Shell cordovan sneakers from Goral Foot Wear. Limited edition, handcrafted in England. Reverse side of a black piece of Shell Cordovan leather, very nice dark green color stamped “Horween”. But I would still choose black sneakers!)
