Shell Cordovan leather is a very rare and difficult material to produce. The tanning process takes about 6 months. The raw material for Shell Cordovan is part of the horse’s hide. Only the horse’s rump is suitable for the production of Shell Cordovan.
For these reasons, Shell Cordovan is a rare and expensive material. I have found about a dozen tanneries that manufacture Shell Cordovan:
- Horween Leather Company;
- Shinki Hikaku Co;
- Maryam Tannery;
- Conceria Rocado;
- The Tannery Cloe Srl;
- Comipel;
- Lis Royal;
- Leder Ogawa;
- Clayton & Son;
- Corium.
I would be grateful if you could add to this list.
You forgot to add an Italian Shell Cordovan from Tuscany to the list. I have uploaded a picture of their logo.
I intentionally did not add this brand to the list. These are the partners of the ROCADO tannery.

Found the Guidi & Rosellini brand Shell Cordovan on instagram. But on the official website there is information only that they make shoes.
This list does not include the Corium Shell Cordovan brand from Tuscany, Italy. They have an instagram account https://www.instagram.com/coriumshellcordovan/
Thanks for your help, I’ve added Corium to the list! Later I will make a handy table with Shell Cordovan tanneries. I will add countries and contact info.
English Shell Cordovan Tanneries:
These Shell Cordovan brands have unique stamps, but I think they were made by Clayton (now Clayton & Son) on behalf of the Spire Leather Company and Metropolitan Leather. This is my guess, I would like to know your opinion.
