In this post, I’m sharing a table of search terms (keywords) for leatherworkers and leather goods brands. I’ve done deep research and selected keywords with relatively low competition.
What does this mean? By using these search queries on your own website, you can more easily achieve high rankings in Google or Bing SERPs—and even in ChatGPT and other AI chat bots. And where there are searches, there are potential customers.
These keywords can also spark ideas for specific leather products. People love brand names they recognize, which is why having a strategy for “branded” keywords is so effective.
For instance, it’s much simpler and more effective to promote your website (or a product page) for the phrase “Horween leather watch strap” than for the generic “handmade leather watch strap.”

I used SEMRUSH to gather these keywords. In the table, the first number represents the monthly search volume for that query on Google in the US. The second number is the Keyword Difficulty (KD) score.
This score ranges from 1 to 100, where a lower number means it’s easier to rank for that keyword in Google’s search results. That’s why I specifically selected search terms with the lowest possible difficulty.
